Nursing

Of the many things that I do, I am a registered nurse with 20+ years of clinical and leadership experience in labor and delivery, one of the highest stakes and highest stress environments in healthcare. L&D functions as its own integrated unit, with triage, admissions, surgery, PACU, postpartum stabilization, and rapid decision-making often happening at once. My work spans the full continuum of care. I triage, admit, deliver, assist in surgery as a first assist and scrub, circulate, recover patients, care for both mother and baby, and guide families through discharge. I have also served as a nurse manager, preceptor, relief charge nurse, and triage lead, roles that require calm under pressure, clear communication, and the ability to coordinate complex workflows.

Nursing has shaped the foundation of how I think and how I work. It has taught me to remain steady in critical situations, to advocate without hesitation, and to guide others with clarity and confidence. Whether I am caring for a patient, leading a team, or mentoring a new nurse, I bring the same commitment to safety, skill, and compassion that has defined my entire clinical career.

In labor and delivery, every second matters. I have learned to lead with clarity, stay grounded in high-pressure moments, and never lose sight of the women at the center of the work. Nursing is both a responsibility and a privilege, and I treat it as both.
